Tabsy · Last updated 13 September 2026

The short version: Tabsy itself does not collect, transmit, or share any data — every expense, name, and setting you enter stays on your device. The one exception is the ad banner Tabsy shows to stay free, which is served by Google AdMob and can collect the technical data described below.

What Tabsy stores

Tabsy stores, entirely on your device, the information you choose to enter in order to use the app:

This data is held in a local database on your device. Nothing you enter is sent anywhere.

What Tabsy does not do

Advertising

Tabsy shows a small banner ad, served through Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK), to stay free without an account or subscription. To serve and measure that ad, Google Mobile Ads may collect technical data such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, general device information, and ad interaction data. This data is collected and processed by Google, not by Tabsy — Tabsy never sees your expenses, names, or any other on-device data described above, because that data never leaves the app. You can learn more and manage your ad personalization preferences at:

Backup and export

Tabsy can export your data to a JSON file at your request, so you can back it up or move it to a new device. That file is created and shared using Android's own file and share mechanisms — Tabsy does not upload it anywhere on your behalf. Where that file goes after you export it (a cloud drive, another app, email) is entirely your choice.

Receipt photos

If you attach a photo to an expense, it is copied into the app's private storage on your device and is never uploaded. Deleting the expense deletes the photo.

UPI hand-off

Settling up can open a UPI payment app you already have installed, with the amount and payee pre-filled. Tabsy does not process, hold, or see the payment — it only launches the intent your device's UPI app handles, the same way tapping a phone number opens your dialer.

Third parties

Google AdMob, described above, is the only third-party service Tabsy uses. There are no other data-sharing partners, and no other library in the app has network access.

Children's privacy

Tabsy is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the data it stores about your expenses and contacts never leaves your device.
